About us
bmicalculatorsystem.com exists for one reason: to give everyone a fast, honest, evidence-based BMI check — no sign-up required, and your calculations never leave your browser.
Our mission
Most online health calculators bury a one-line answer under email-capture pop-ups and endless clutter. We built this site to be the opposite: a single, fast page that answers your question in seconds and gives you honest context around the number — including where BMI falls short.
Every calculation on this site runs locally in your browser. Your height, weight, and age are never uploaded, logged, or stored anywhere — the numbers you type stay on your device.
Methodology
01
Adult BMI categories follow the World Health Organization's standard cut-offs, including the full obesity sub-classes and thinness grades.
02
Results for children and teens (ages 2–19) are interpreted with age- and sex-specific percentiles from CDC growth charts, not adult cut-offs.
03
Every formula we use — BMI, BMI Prime, the Ponderal Index, and your healthy weight range — is published openly on the homepage. No black boxes.
Editorial standards
Our content is written and maintained by the bmicalculatorsystem.com editorial team and checked against current guidance from recognised public-health authorities. Every health claim about BMI ranges, categories, and interpretation is traceable to the primary sources below. When those authorities update their guidance, we review and revise the affected pages.
BMI is a screening tool with well-documented limitations, and we say so plainly rather than overstating what a single number can tell you. If you spot anything inaccurate or out of date, tell us — we'll correct it.

Important
Everything on this website is general health information intended for educational purposes. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. BMI is a screening tool — not a diagnosis. If your result falls below 18.5 or above 30, or you have any concerns about your weight or health, please speak with a doctor or registered dietitian.
